Independence day

Every year since 2017, several churches and organisations gather to worship God, thank Him for this beautiful country and pray for His blessings on the nation. Flag-hoisting and social welfare programs are held to mark the day. If India has to continue on the upward path of progress, it would happen only when each and every Indian does their part to contribute to the nation’s well-being and betterment of one another. “We are representatives of this nation. This is no time for petty and destructive criticism, no time for ill-will or blaming others. This is the time to commit ourselves to involve and labor hard in building our nation and serving the needy communities, especially the deprived and marginalised sections of society, wiping every tear from every eye. United in peace and freedom, let us build a great nation.”

President John F. Kennedy’s famous quote that defined a generation years ago would be apt to be remembered– “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.”
